Happy Thanskgiving From The Farm!!!
Be sure to remember us and bring a taste of the orchard to your holiday tables with our apples, pears, and cider.
Thank you for your shopping with us in 2024! We are closing for the season on Saturday, December 7.
Fruit at Its Finest
Welcome to our orchard. We hope you come to love the fruit of this land as much as we do. From the first sweet cherry to appear in June to the last Winesap apple to close the season, we want you to count on us to provide you with produce of the highest quality. In fact, that's been our mission since these barn doors first opened in the 1930's. If you live in the central Pennsylvania area, do stop by, say hi, and get yourself a juicy peach or two.
HISTORY
If you're a local Dutchman, you may know the name "Andrew Seyfert"; if not, let us aquaint you. He grew up milking cows in that good ol' red barn converted into our fruit stand. Born in the 1890's, the eldest of three boys, determined, and possessing a bit of a risk taking streak, he traveled to Iowa with some local fellows to find his future wife.
THE FARM
What we grow, what we offer, and what to do
What We Grow
OUR FRUIT
At Seyfert Orchards, we grow our own sweet cherries, sour cherries, plums, peaches, pears, and apples. You will find a mix of the tried and true varieties of fruit that have been with us for decades, as well as new ones we have added. Montmorency sour cherries, Sugar Plums, Red Haven peaches, Bartlett pears, and Winesap apples likely have passed through your grandmother's kitchen and continue to pass through ours. While staying loyal to our roots, we have added newer varieties such as Gala, Sun Crisp, and Honey Crisp apples.
What We Offer
OUR PRODUCE STAND
In addition to the fruit we raise, we offer our customers an array of produce and specialty food items. You will find vegetables, sweet corn, melons, and various other fruits. Our shelves are stocked with locally made sauerkraut, chow-chow, salad dressings, and jams. We also have a variety of dips, seasoned salt, dried fruits, juices, and seasonal apple snitz and cider. Each year, we find new items to sell at the farm stand, and it is our pleasure to partner with other farmers and small businesses to bring you quality food and produce.
What To Do
EVENTS
Mark your calendars for two events in our 2024 season! On Saturday, August 3, we will offer our annual Peach Day at the orchard with our peach milkshakes, homemade peach crisp, peach sundaes, peach pies, and The Seyfert Sisters' baked goods tent. Then on October 11-12, we bring to you our two-day autumn baked good sale of homemade apple crisp, apple dumplings, pies, and other homemade treats. Everything is offered while supplies last. Thanks for making our events a success each year!
